Mans life on this planet
can be seen as a continuum of expansion and contraction-an endless
pulsation controlled by our breathing. We participate at the most gross level
in an interactive system of vibration and resonance. The pinnacle of this
vibration is the cosmic sound called naada.
This naada produces space
(akasha) which, in turn, produces the other elements of the manifest
world (air, fire, water and earth). These elements are at the interface of the
gross material world and the subtle non-material world or field. They
participate in both worlds as a link.
Akasha is the element of the fifth
chakra, Vishuddha (ultra pure), which is the source of speech, listening and
creativity. All sound produces akasha. Depending upon the quality of the sound,
akasha will be gross or more refined. Among the finest of akashas is surya
akasha. The prerequisites for producing such akasha are: precise
pronunciation and intonation of mantras as well as the purity of feeling for the divinity
within.
There are many beneficial effects of
surya akasha. These include the following:
establishes new connections
among neurons produces a healing effect on the immune system
aides integration of all three fields: causal, subtle and physical
reduces breathing rate brings contentment to the seven chakra
minds integrates the left and right hemispheres of the brain
refines the early (reptilian and mammalian) brain
aides one to take a distance from ones thoughts, feelings and
body aides unattached observation of phenomenal world
facilitates meditation puts one in touch with pure (sattvic)
energy stimulates opening of the sixth microchakra of the fifth
chakra, the locus of the Inner Guru
InnerTuning® explores in depth
the relationship between sound, akasha and silence. We learn how to create
subtler frequencies of akasha so that the blockages in the microchakras
(components of the chakras) dissolve.
